Mission Statement
United Proud women is a non-profit organization. Its main objective is to empower sexual minority women with safe, brave, collaborative, and creative spaces to grow as individuals, connect with community members, and organize collective actions that drive inclusive social changes.
United Proud Women uses the term “sexual minority women” in a broader sense that welcomes all individuals who have lived the experience of being a sexual minority woman. This includes but is not limited to those who identify as lesbian, bisexual, transgender (both MTF or FTM), queer, and/or non-binary individuals who have experienced challenges and discrimination because of their sexual orientation or gender identity.

Knowledge
knowledge holds immense power. It’s crucial to stay informed about our rights, health, and overall well-being. United Proud Women encourages all community members to practice self-awareness, confidence, resilience and self care.
However, it’s important to acknowledge that knowledge is not neutral and can be influenced by power dynamics. Hence, it’s essential to maintain a critical stance towards the dominant knowledge systems that may lack inclusivity or representation.

Founding Story
United Proud Women had its humble beginnings in Los Angeles, California, where a group of passionate strong women came together with a shared vision and a commitment to empowering sexual minority women. The founding team embraced a mindset of growth and learning, recognizing the immense social impact that could be achieved by empowering this marginalized community. The team brought diverse expertise in technology, business management, sales, operations, and marketing to the table, leveraging their skills, insights, networks, and organizing capabilities. They were determined to empower sexual minority women through various means and make a lasting difference in their lives.
The organization’s journey began with the establishment of three fundamental pillars: knowledge, community, and advocacy. Through knowledge, they encouraged self-awareness, resilience, and self-care. The community pillar aimed to create a safe and inclusive environment, providing mentorship and networking opportunities. Advocacy efforts included pride events, visibility programs, and social media campaigns.
